ヤノベケンジ
Kenji YANOBE
1965年大阪府生まれ。現代美術作家。1990 年、瞑想装置《タンキング・マシーン》でデビュー。「現代社会におけるサヴァイヴァル」をテーマに機械彫刻を制作。1997 年より放射線感知服《アトムスーツ》を着用し、チェルノブイリ（チョルノービリ）などを訪れる《アトムスーツ・プロジェクト》を敢行（－2003年）。2011 年、希望のモニュメント《サン・チャイルド》を制作。3体のうち1 体が茨木市（大阪）に恒久設置される。2017年、福を運ぶ旅の守り神《SHIP’S CAT》シリーズの制作を開始。2021 年、大阪中之島美術館に《SHIP’S CAT (Muse)》が恒久設置される。

Born in 1965 in Osaka Prefecture, Kenji Yanobe is a contemporary artist known for his large-scale mechanical sculptures that explore the theme of “survival in contemporary society.” He made his debut in 1990 with the meditative installation Tanking Machine.
Beginning in 1997, he launched the Atom Suit Project (1997–2003), in which he wore a radiation-detecting protective suit (the "Atom Suit") and visited sites such as Chernobyl. In 2011, he created Sun Child, a monument symbolizing hope, one of which has been permanently installed in Ibaraki City, Osaka.In 2017, Yanobe began his SHIP’SCAT series, featuring guardian deities of travel believed to bring good fortune. In 2021, SHIP’SCAT (Muse) was permanently installed at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka.
